Clan in New Zealand
With the change in Chieftainship, interest grew in forming a Clan Society in New Zealand. A group of supporters in Auckland had discussions and with the assistance of the Clan Davidson Associations in Australia and the UK, the Clan Davidson Society in New Zealand was formed in December 1998 and became an Incorporated Society in 2001.
- Encourages and maintains interest in the Clan worldwide
- Preserves and promotes the traditions and history of the Clan and things Scottish
- Fosters a spirit of Clanship
- Represents the Clan at Highland Games and Scottish gatherings wherever possible
From time to time an Honorary Life Membership is awarded to members who have given special service to Clan Davidson New Zealand. The following people have been recognised in this way.
Our members come from many parts of New Zealand and we encourage participation in local activities which enriches involvement with the Society. Our aim is to have clan contacts in the main areas to co-ordinate activities for the local members especially where highland games are held.
